Find and fix the errors, like 400 Mill Road!
400 Mill Rd. got its certificate of occupancy in 2024. Why does it still have a building assessment of zero and a land value of just $318,500? It's unacceptable for New Castle County to ignore so many obvious errors in their assessments, and issue a report about how they will do better next time.

We can't live with these errors- we need New Castle County to find and fix them right away!
Your tax bill will arrive in mid-November instead of July this year because lawmakers in Dover passed legislation asking New Castle County to review commercial properties that got big tax decreases as a result of the reassessment and fix the errors. To allow time for these corrections, Dover lawmakers gave New Castle County until mid-November to send out tax bills instead of the usual July.
Here's what Delaware Senate said the law would do: "Senate Bill 228, sponsored by Sen. Dan Cruce, would grant the Office of Finance for New Castle County authority to conduct a quality control review of large, non-residential tax parcels to ensure they were accurately assessed. SB228 would further enable New Castle County to correct valuation errors it may find as part of this quality control review process."
Instead of finding and fixing obvious errors, like this 100 unit luxury apartment building at 400 Mill Rd. that is assessed at $318,500 and got a tax bill last year of just $3,354, New Castle County published a report about how they want to handle their next reassessment 3 years from now.
We need to tell New Castle County that's not enough.
Paying taxes is like sharing the bill at a restaurant. If someone else pays less, you pay more. That's why we need New Castle County to fulfill its obligations under state law assess this property - and others that are assessed wrong!- at its fair market value!

Leave all the other fields blank. There are a lot of records, but there is only one tax bill.
